1810

START OF THE PEUGEOT INDUSTRIAL ADVENTURE

Specialising in the production of steel parts and objects, the family business gradually became interested in the automobile, until 1896, when Armand PEUGEOT created the Société Anonyme des Automobiles PEUGEOT.

1889

STEAM TRICYCLE: FIRST PEUGEOT VEHICLE

At the Paris Universal Exhibition, Armand PEUGEOT presented the first motor vehicle bearing the name PEUGEOT: a steam tricycle (not marketed), built with the engineer Léon Serpollet.

1948

PEUGEOT 203: FIRST MONOCOQUE CAR

The first car produced after the war, the PEUGEOT 203 was the first monocoque model with an engine featuring a hemispherical cylinder head and V-valves and was produced in more than 1/2 million units.

404 LAUNCH

The 404 was designed by Pininfarina. Its angular lines and the increase in glass surfaces bring modernism and elegance which contrast with the models of the 1950s...

In 1961, the 404 was equipped with the first direct injection engine.

 

 

1968

PEUGEOT 504: A RADICALLY NEW STYLE

Voted Car of the Year in 1969 in Europe, the 504 had the longest career of any PEUGEOT model, with 3,700,000 units put on the road up to 2006.

1972

PEUGEOT 104: SHORTEST SALOON IN THE WORLD

The slogan "Everything PEUGEOT in 3.58 m", recalls the fact that it was the smallest four-door saloon in the world.

1979

PEUGEOT 604: 1ST 6-CYLINDER PEUGEOT SALOON SINCE 601

With its style and stature, it was adopted by the highest authorities of the State. The 604 was equipped with the first diesel engine marketed in Europe.

1983

PEUGEOT 205: THE SACRED NUMBER

It is the French car the most exported and sold in France. It became a two-time world rally champion and won two Paris-Dakars.

1987

PEUGEOT 405: FAMILY MODEL

For the second time in its history, PEUGEOT won the European Car of the Year award with the 405 in 1988.

1997

PEUGEOT 406: COUPÉ MADE BY PININFARINA

The first coupé to be offered with a diesel engine in 2001, it has become a collector's item thanks to its timeless design.

1998

PEUGEOT 206: PRODUCED IN MORE THAN 7M UNITS

Three times world rally champion, its CC version revived the fashion for "coupé-convertibles" in 2000, initiated by PEUGEOT in 1934.

2016

PEUGEOT 3008: FIRST SUV

The 3008 was the first SUV to win the award since the Car of the Year trophy was created and the fifth PEUGEOT to be voted Car of the Year.
 

2019

The PEUGEOT PARTNER was elected International Van Of The Year 2019, the fifth PEUGEOT vehicle crowned Van Of The Year since the creation of the trophy in 1992.

 

Two major and unique innovations have attracted attention: the overload indicator for safe loading and Surround Rear Vision which allows camera vision of blind spots.

 

The PEUGEOT PARTNER stands out for the exclusive adoption and world first in this segment of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, offering a new driving experience for greater productivity.

 

The “International Van Of The Year” award has existed since 1992. The jury is made up of a European panel of 25 journalists and editors from independent magazines, specializing in light commercial vehicles (LCV).

2020

The PEUGEOT 208 was the first electric car (new generation) and the 6th PEUGEOT to be named Car of the Year. PEUGEOT thus became one of the top three most successful brands in the award.

2021

The new face of PEUGEOT

The new 308, which bears the Brand's new coat of arms, seduces with its sharp and sensual design, its advanced technology and its efficiency.

Its range of engines, including two rechargeable hybrids (180 or 225 hp), offers customers the power to choose between thermal or electrified propulsion modes.
